Since everyone is talking about movies, I was just wondering if anyone has seen "Inside Job"? It angered me beyond words, and it still angers me even though I saw it several weeks ago. It's the academy award winning documentary that analyzes the global financial crisis of 2008. It's just a great informative movie that should be required viewing.

However, no one has seen it...

I haven't seen it. I know it would piss me off. It's hard to get people to see documentaries, unless you are Michael Moore for some reason.

People don't generally care, and in a world where we're repeatedly told that Government is the answer to everything, and that you can trust your Government, people just assume the Government will deal with it.

It's just this kind of "everything is better when the government keeps its hands out of everything" attitude that caused the financial crisis to begin with.

Wait, what? Was that a response to something I was saying? The reply didn't seem to match up with the phrase quoted.

That said, if you think Barney Fwank and his "fair housing" initiatives weren't the heart of the problem, then I can't imagine the documentary did a good job.

Uh...someone's been reading too much uninformed and biased opinion. The greater reasons behind the financial collapse was the massive banking de-regulation that was initiated by the Clinton administration with the help of a GOP congress and continued un-abated for many years. But I'm sure it comforts many hearts to think that a small amount of affirmative action loans nearly collapsed our financial system.

Heh, I guess it all depends on how far back you want to go. But consequence-free money is always a snowball from hell.
